Which gold tester is best for me?
That depends entirely on which items you want to test:
For traditional investors (coins and bars), the GoldScreenSensor, used in combination with a caliper and a precision scale, is usually sufficient (it can also measure through packaging).
For bars weighing 50 to 100 grams or more, we recommend using the BarScreenSensor as a supplement; however, the items must be unpacked for this sensor. The GoldScreenPen can also be used for smaller investment items up to approximately 1 ounce.
For gold jewellery, measurement with the CaratScreenPen is ideal. The fineness of gold (karat) can also be determined using our testing acid kits.
As a tungsten detector, the MagneticScreenScale is an alternative to the GoldScreenSensor for gold objects ranging from approximately 1/4 ounce to 250 g. Anyone who focuses exclusively on gold and, for example, does not want to unpack 100-gram bars is well-served by this magnetic scale.
